Coming up this April, Avery will have the exciting opportunity of playing Seymour Krelborn in Eden High School's production of Little Shop of Horrors! This is a very exciting exprience, and following his past high-school production which won him Best Featured Actor in a Male Role (Play), he's looking forward to what's in store (... or shop!).

This year, Avery is thrilled to be joining the Broadway Lights Competitive Team for the 2024-2025 season. After having danced in in their recreational programs for a couple years, he was told to try out for the competitive team. He is so excited to be joining this incredible team of dancers this year, and can't wait to expand his skills as a dancer in JazzBalletTapLyrical, and Contemporary!

DECEMBER 2024

In the upcoming 2024-2025 season at Yellow Door Theatre Project, Avery will be performing as The Baker in their production of Into the Woods Jr.. This show is an exciting adaptation compared to the traditional forest-themed set, and Avery is thrilled to be joining! He has a deep connection with this musical, having performed it last in 2019. NOVEMBER 2024

This past fall, Avery participated in the FRAMES FILM COMPETITION organized by the DSBN. In 10 hours, Avery and his team wrote, filmed, edited, and published a short film under the theme "When Two Worlds Collide". This was an amazing experience, and Avery had lots of fun acting in front of the camera once again.

In the upcoming 2024-2025 season at Yellow Door Theatre Project, Avery will be the Assistant Director for The Little Prince. He is thrilled to be working alongside director and trusted colleague, Andorlie Hillstrom (director) with this exciting project! JULY 2024

In the summer of 2024, Avery had the joy of playing Horton the Elephant in Seussical Jr. with Yellow Door Theatre Project! This show was performed at the First Ontario Performing Arts Centre in the Partridge Hall. This has been a dream role of his for so long and he is thrilled to have this opportunity! He is also a Teacher's Assistant, which includes responsibilities like helping out backstage and leading group activities. Click here for tickets!

MAY 2024

In the spring of 2024, Avery had the opportunity to star in the short film Hells Kitchen in a principal role, playing Beta, a counterpart to his scene partner Beta (played by Zoey Canham). This film was directed by Keona Bruton. This was such a new experience for Avery, having been his first film-specific work, and it was very fun to be a part of! The film won awards at the Welland Centennial Secondary School's film-showing.

MAY 2024

Avery had the honour of returning to compete in the OMFA Provincials singing festival for Intermediate Musical Theatre. This was his second year performing live at this competition! After placing in the Top 2 in his group, he successfully moved forward to the Final Playoffs. Avery was awarded a Distinguished Honourable Mention and got to meet some incredibly talented individuals from across Ontario.

APRIL 2024

This year, Avery once again had the joy of competing in the Niagara Festival of Performing Arts. He performed a variety of songs, including "You'll Be Back" from Hamilton, "If I Didn't Believe In You" from The Last Five Years, and "Tonight at Eight" from She Loves Me. He was awarded Most Outstanding Intermediate Performer for musical theatre and he is extremely grateful to his teachers and family for their support.

This year, Avery had the honour of playing the role of Mark Cohen in Garden City Productions' production of RENT! This show was performed at the Mandeville Theatre at Ridley College. This show was such a thrill to perform, especially being accompanied by an older cast. This production has taken Avery's top spot in his favourites, and will cherish the memories and bonds he made throughout this production. 

DECEMBER 2023

In the winter of 2023, Avery had the thrill of playing both Jack Kelly and Crutchie in Yellow Door Theatre Project's production of Newsies! This show was performed at the First Ontario Performing Arts Centre in the Robertson Theatre. Performing Newsies has always been a dream of his and was a show he never thought he would ever get the joy of performing in, let alone playing the lead.

JULY 2023

In the summer of 2023, Avery had the joy of playing Bert in Mary Poppins Jr. with Yellow Door Theatre Project! This show was performed at the First Ontario Performing Arts Centre in the Partridge Hall. After watching Mary Poppins for the first time as a child and not being able to stop singing "Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious", playing Bert was Avery's dream!

APRIL 2023

At his current school, Eden High School, Avery had the privilege of playing Gene Culpepper (The Director) in their production of Murder's in the Heir, an interactive murder mystery! 

In late May 2023, the annual CAPPIES Critics award ceremony was held at Welland Centennial High School, where Avery was nominated for and won

MARCH 2023

In the spring of 2023, Avery performed as the title character in the musical You're a Good Man, Charlie BrownCharlie Brown! This show was a lot of fun and was such a tremendous learning experience for all involved! 

This show also found its way into the NOTL Local Newspaper! This was the first time Avery had ever been interviewed by a reporter and it was such a new and exciting experience! If you want to read it, click here!

DECEMBER 2022

In the winter of 2022, Avery performed in Yellow Door Theatre Project's performance of Nobody's Children, an original Canadian Christmas musical at the First Ontario Performing Arts Centre! This story was inspired by The Pied Piper and the emigration of homeless children in London in the late 1800's.

Avery had the honour of playing Edward, the leader of the orphans, as well as understudying the lead, Ichabod.
